avoid test anxiety! meditate, breathe, pep talk — whatever helps you get calm and confident
DURING THE TEST
manage distractions — bring a fidget toy or headphones
sit somewhere that minimizes distractions
manage your time — use a timer!
ask about accommodations
feed your brain — it runs on glucose. give it glucose! (not too much)
read instructions — slowly. twice. maybe highlight.
mix it up! — use different colors! switch hands! whatever keeps you engaged
don’t get stuck — put a star next to questions you don’t know the answer to
put a dot next to answers you’re not sure of
come back to them if you still have time left
BREATHE — if you get anxious or frustrated, STOP.
Take a breath (or 5)
Observe — figure out what you’re feeling
Proceed — in a way that will help you
